Pierre-Emerick Aubameyang is one of the most elite forwards around and It’s no surprise with his future at Arsenal hanging in the balance, a host of clubs would be waiting patiently to pounce on his signature.

Some weeks back, a report by Express hinted Spanish giants Barcelona and Real Madrid were interested in the 30-year-old services and it was understandable considering the need for a striker at both clubs.

Suarez is looking past it at Barca and Madrid are also keen to offload Benzema for another elite striker who can give in a few more years – surely Aubameyang fills both vacant spots.

However, a recent report by Tuttomercatoweb claimed Inter are now in the running for the 30-year-old’s services and might consider a move in January or at the end of the season.

The same report goes on to say that Inter manager Antonio Conte is a big fan of Aubameyang and will keep a close eye on the player’s situation ahead of January.

The Gunners are keen to offer him a new deal as a reward for his brilliant form since he joined from Borussia Dortmund in January 2018, but they face a fight to convince him his long-term future remains in North London as a result of the club’s poor form.

As good as Aubameyang might be, his services may simply a luxury for Conte and his Inter side and it would be somewhat ill-advised should the Nerazzurri even consider adding him to their ranks.

Why Inter have no business with Aubameyang

Conte has made Inter a force to reckon with as they sit top of the table ahead of Juventus but without doubt, his most solid achievement so far is brewing a partnership in Romelu Lukaku and Lautaro Martinez that seems to be getting better everyday.

24 goals and five assists between them as per Whoscored means both strikers have hit double digits this season and you can bank on them getting to 20 apiece – If they continue at this rate.

For Lukaku, It is more of a redemption for the Belgian as his tally of 10 league goals means he is just two from equaling his last season’s league tally of 12 at United (Transfermarkt). Conte was always a long-term admirer of the Belgian and has proved that interest by bringing out the best in him. Making his £74m fee seem like good business already at this stage of the season.

10 goals and two assists this season, 53 goals and 12 assists (Transfermarkt) overall mean Aubameyang has been an individual shining light in what has been a disappointing past few seasons for the club. Despite all the struggles Arsenal have been plagued with in recent time, Aubameyang’s league tally of 42 means he has scored the most league goals than any other player in the league since signing for the Gunners back in 2018.
Aubameyang obviously adds quality and lots of goals to the Inter side. But what would his move mean for the likes of Lukaku and Lautaro Martínez? Or better still, how will they all be managed effectively?

When you also consider the huge amount (the range of €70-75 as per Transfermarkt) Inter would have to cough out for a 30-year-old, It would be a total disappointment if he comes off as a bad signing in any way.

If anything, Inter need a striker that would ideally be a backup to Lukaku and would settle down for that role without any hesitation.

Perhaps a much older and experienced forward still looking for decent action would make sense as an option. Oliver Giroud for instance who has also been linked to the Nerazzurri in the past few weeks.

Aubameyang would be a good signing for any club but for Inter, Lukaku and Martinez mean they have no need for another elite forward.
