Who are Crystal Palace?

Crystal Palace is an English football team based in Selhurst in South London, England, who currently plays in the Premier League, the highest level of English football.

Although formally created as a professional team in 1905, the Eagles report to be a continuation of the original amateur Crystal Palace football team, first established in 1861 at the Eagles Exhibition building after historians discovered a direct lineage through their ownership under the same Crystal Palace Company.

On 26 June 2017, Crystal Palace signed their first permanent foreign coach in former Dutch international Frank de Boer, who was dismissed after just 77 days in charge, with Crystal Palace having lost their first four league games at the start of the 2017–18 season while failing to score in any of them.

His replacement, Roy Hodgson, was signed the next day. the EAgles finished in eleventh place in the Premier League in Roy Hodgson’s first season, twelfth in the 2018–19 campaign and fourteenth the following season.

The Eagles are teams with a long and storied history, one of London’s most iconic clubs with some fantastic footballers over their 114-year history.

Due to their location in the capital, the Eagles are involved in a number of local derbies, across South London. They enjoy fierce rivalries with both Millwall and ex-tenants Charlton Athletic. The team have a long-standing and fierce rivalry with Brighton & Hove Albion

Crystal Palace chiefs decided that they need to make changes at the club in order to compete for the European zone in the 2021/22 season and started it by replacing the manager. Former Arsenal star Patrick Vieira has been appointed as the club head-coach, their main goal will be to keep Wilfred Zaha at the club after securing the services of Joachim Andersen from Lyon, Michael Olise from Reading and a loan deal for Conor Galagher.
