Who is Pierre-Emerick Aubameyang?
Pierre-Emerick Emiliano François Aubameyang, simply known as Aubameyang, is a Gabonese professional footballer who plays as a centre-forward for the Premier League club Arsenal.
Gabon International was born on 18 June 1989 in Laval, France. Pierre-Emerick began his senior career playing for Milan but never appeared for the Rossoneri as the striker went on a series of loan spells in France.
Aubameyang moved to Saint-Etienne in 2011. There, the Gabonese striker won a Coupe de la Ligue trophy and joined Borussia Dortmund in 2013.
In the Bundesliga, the African centre-forward finished as Bundesliga’s top goalscorer in the 2016–17 campaign and won a DFB-Pokal.
Aubameyang also ranks as the team’s sixth-highest all-time goalscorer.
In 2018, Pierre-Emerick was the subject of a then-club record association football transfer when signed for the London club in a transfer worth £56m, making him the most expensive Gabonese footballer of all time.
With the Gunners, Aubameyang won an FA Cup and finished as the Premier League’s joint-top goalscorer in the 2018–19 campaign. On 15 September, Pierre-Emerick signed a new three-year deal with the London club.
On 1 November, Aubameyang scored a penalty in a 1–0 away victory over Man United to grant Arsenal their first Premier League victory at Old Trafford since 2006.

After an excellent campaign with Dijon, Pierre-Emerick was invited to play for Italy U19s, but the striker debuted for the France U21 side in winter 2009 in a friendly game with Tunisia U21.
Pierre-Emerick was also eligible to play for Spain because the centre-forward has Spanish nationality.
Aubameyang decided to represent Gabon because his father once captained the team, but the striker maintains a close relationship with Spain and dreams to play in La Liga.
