Who is Hector Bellerin?
Hector Bellerin Moruno is a Spanish professional footballer who plays as a right-back for the Premier League giants Arsenal. Spain international was born on 19 March 1995 in Barcelona.
Hector started his career at Barcelona and moved to the London club in 2011.
Bellerín played his competitive debut game away to West Brom in the third tie of the League Cup in September 2013, coming on in the 95th minute as a substitute for current manager Mikel Arteta in a penalty shootout win after a 1–1 draw.
Two months later, Hector joined Championship club Watford on a two-month loan deal and played his debut game with Yeovil Town eight days after addition.
The loan with the Hornets was extended until the end of the campaign, but Bellerin was recalled by the Gunners in winter 2014.
Following injuries to Debuchy, Chambers and Monreal, Hector played his Champions League debut game on 16 September 2014 in a 2–0 loss away to Borussia Dortmund.
Bellerin scored his first goal for the Gunners in winter 2015, in a 5–0 victory over Aston Villa, and added a second in April to open a 4–1 victory over Liverpool.
Hector was selected to start for the Gunners in the 2015 FA Cup final on 30 May, helping Arsenal keep a clean sheet in a 4–0 victory over Aston Villa at Wembley Stadium.
On 21 November 2016, Bellerin signed a new long-term deal after agreeing to a deal that ties him to the Emirates Stadium until 2022.
In summer 2020, Bellerín was selected to start in the FA Cup final with Chelsea and won his third winners’ medal as the Gunners won their 14th FA Cup.
What is Hector Bellerin’s international career like?
Having reached the 2013 European Championship semi-finals with the U19 team, Hector made his debut for Albert Celades’s U21 side on 30 March 2015, playing the full 90 minutes of a 4–0 friendly victory over Belarus in Leon.
In May 2016, after being named as a stand-by footballer for the year’s European Championship, Hector made his debut for the entire squad by starting in a 3–1 friendly victory over Bosnia at the AFG Arena in St. Gallen, Switzerland.
Two days later, Bellerin was chosen for the final team after Dani Carvajal withdrew through injury. Hector was unused as they reached the last 16.
