
Arsenal have started their Premier League season with a 2-0 defeat against newly-promoted team Brentford and the Gunners boss Mikel Arteta is already under pressure.
Arteta has been busy this summer signing Nuno Tavares, Albert Sambi Lokonga and Ben White, however, it’s not enough and they need to strengthen their squad in order to compete for a top-place and game against Brentford has proved it.
Meanwhile, the future of several first-team stars has been up in the air and outgoings are also believed before the window slams shut.
Barcelona planning move for Arsenal attacking duo
Barcelona are reportedly interested in the signing of Arsenal attacking duo Alexandre Lacazette and Pierre-Emerick Aubameyang.
Sport claims that despite Catalan club’s financial crisis, they plan to sign a top-class centre-forward and the Arsenal pair are on their shortlist.
Recent reports from Spain claimed that Barcelona have offered Philippe Coutinho in exchange for Aubameyang or Lacazette, both Arsenal forward’s missed the loss to Brentford through illness but moves at this stage, particularly to Barcelona, would be surprising.
But Sport’s report claims that following new signing Sergio Aguero’s lengthy injury setback, Koeman is targeting a new forward and has identified the Gunners attacking due as potential targets.
Arteta plans to sell Aubameyang
While Aubameyang is being rumoured with a move to Barcelona, it is also being reported that the Norht London giants would be open to listening to offers for their skipper.
The Times reports that Mikel Arteta would be willing to sanction the 32-year-old’s departure from the club despite recently signing a new contract.
Aubameyang has managed to found back of the net 10 times in the Premier League in the previous season and has come under fire for underwhelming performances.
The Gabonese international is believed to be one of a number of players Arteta plans to sell with Lacazette who is entering the final year is also could be on his way out from the Emirates Stadium.
Abraham wanted Arsenal over AS Roma
Chelsea forward Tammy Abraham is set to finalise a permanent move to Serie A giants AS Roma as reports claim that he is set to pass medial today.
Abraham will join former Chelsea and Man Utd boss Jose Mourinho in the Italian capital after falling out of favour at Stamford Bridge.
But according to The Athletic, the English forward initially wanted to remain in London and his preferred destination was Arsenal.
Unfortunately, no offer came from the North London giants, who perhaps could have benefitted by adding the 23-year-old forward
