The UEFA Europa League is the second-tier club competition on the UEFA list. It is for teams that missed out on playing in the UCL that season. In addition, the competition also takes in teams that didn’t make it to the knockout round of the competition and finished third in their group.
You can enjoy the UEL if you want to take a break from playing Vegas online casino games. Therefore, you can use the many games in the competition to win some money too. Same as teams would like to win the match, and aside from getting a trophy, the winners would get a chance to play in the Super Cup and an automatic qualification to the UCL.
Undoubtedly, the competition is interesting, and teams that couldn’t make it into the UCL in their respective leagues would put in more work to win the tournament. Therefore, we should expect exciting play from the teams and tough competition for the top teams. So, it is not an easy competition to win.
For Arsenal, the UEL is one of their best chances to make it back to the Champions League fray, and undoubtedly, they would need to put in more work if they want to achieve their aim. In that case, we expect Arteta to take the competition seriously next season. But the question remains, can the team win the Europa League competition?
The Addition of Gabriel Jesus
One of the best things to come out of the transfer window was the introduction of Gabriel Jesus to the team. The player is just approaching his peak and would be an incredible addition to a team like Arsenal that lacked a player with his drive and technicality, ready to push for a win and score goals.
Arsenal is lucky enough to get the signing of Jesus, and throughout the preseason, it has shown that the player can work well for the team. He has already worked with Arteta. Therefore, it won’t be an issue for the gaffer to find his perfect spot in the group. In addition, Arteta would ensure that he fits into the team perfectly.
Undoubtedly, we expect a player that would help the team run their frontline and produce some top-notch moments. In that case, it would be an excellent ride to see how Jesus pushes the team over the line as they compete for the UEL title. Also, it would be the start of something magnificent.
Thursday Nights and Other Challenges
Since the team is in the Europa League this season, they are set to play for many Thursday nights for as long as they remain in the competition. And if they plan to win, they would have to endure the harshness of playing during the weekend and on Thursday. Therefore, it would be a big challenge for the team.
They would compete in the EPL to ensure they enter the top four positions and make it into the UCL. Therefore, it would take some doing for the team to win the competition unless they are prepared to forgo other competitors, which might come back to bite at the end of the season.
Therefore, we would look at the team and how they navigate the different challenges in the 2022/2023 season. One of Arteta’s most significant challenges will be keeping his players fit throughout the season because if there are injury crises, the team will struggle to get any of their goals.
Major Opponents in the UEL
The UEFA Europa League is not devoid of top challengers for this season. One of the most prominent opponents this season would be Jose Mourinho’s, AS Roma. The team won the 2021/2022 UECL competition and has become a top team in Europa. Roma would be one of the best teams in the tournament.
Undoubtedly, they would give Arsenal a tough if they were to meet in the competition. Aside from Roma, we have Manchester United. The team is also looking to make it back into the UCL, and winning the UEL would be great. Therefore, they are a top opponent for Arsenal in the competition.
Finally, the team would need to be wary of the teams from other minor leagues because they are filled with giant slayers. In that case, Arsenal and Arteta must be careful as they try to win the competition and compete in the EPL. No doubt that the team would have some great moments throughout the competition.
What We Think
Arsenal is one of the top teams in the UEL, and with players like Gabriel Jesus, Bukayo Saka, Emile Smith Rowe, etc., the team has a great chance to win the UEL. However, they would have to go through a tough path this season. But we think Arsenal can win the UEL and make it to the 2023/2024 UCL season.
